Chinese

In Term 4 students in the junior classes are learning about food (食物) in Chinese. Through action songs, creative art, reading, writing and interactive activities using ICT, students will be introduced to vocabulary related to targeted learning areas, sentence structures such as “I like/don’t like to eat/drink 我喜欢/不喜欢吃/喝”, as well as healthy eating habits and the food pyramid. 

Last week students were able to have the hands-on experience of making and tasting Chinese Moon Cake with their classmates. They learnt the recipe and were able to create their own cake, adding the special bean paste in the middle. They were delicious!

Year 5/6 Surf Lifesaving Day at Aspendale Beach

Last week the Year 5/6 students attended Aspendale Beach for a course in water safety and survival, with Surf Lifesaving Victoria. It was a fun day and they learnt a great deal about resuscitation, survival in the surf, rescuing others and water safety skills. It was fun on the boogie boards and having a day at the beach with their classmates.
