Junior Yarn and Learn - Food Tasting
Last Thursday, our Junior Yarn and Learn Group joined with the College indigenous students for a food tasting session. They learnt about bush flavours and the different plants, grains, seeds and berries that are used to create them.
Here’s what our students had to say:-
“My favourite food was the Wattleseed and Butterscotch popcorn because it tasted like coffee. I liked seeing the high schoolers as well.” Kai Year 2
“I liked the Finger Lime and Lemon Myrtle sparkling water. The Wattleseed and Butterscotch popcorn was my favourite flavour. I liked seeing the high school and meeting the other students” Piper Year 5
“I liked learning about how they used plants, seeds and grains to make different flavours. My favourite food was the rosemary and saltbush crackers with lemon myrtle and coconut dip.” Ashlyn, Year 4
“Going to college was fun. I liked tasting the Plum and Macadamia Muffins and drinking wild peach and orange mineral water.” Christian Year 3
“I like meeting the high school students and eating saltbush and vinegar popcorn.” Alana Year 3
