2025 School Theme - Why Team, Why Team Westbreen
Principal’s Message
Dear Westbreen PS Families,
Another week has gone, and another week filled with successes and things to celebrate. Each week continues to highlight the strengths of the school community and how well connected everyone is to the moral purpose of our school. This is evident through the interactions with all community members as well as the ways everyone is happy to lend a hand to support one another.
School Review
Over the past week, we have commenced the review process that schools participate in every four years. The purpose of the process is to review the goals set in the School Strategic Plan and to assess the level of success that has been achieved in the previous four years. It also plays a key role in setting the direction for the next School Strategic Plan and the direction of the school. The process allows students, teachers and families to share their thoughts and ideas on how we have gone as a school and help to provide clarity on where we should focus our attention moving forward. The feedback from the panel of independent parties has provided extremely positive feedback on a range of areas in the school and provided affirmation of the work that has been completed over the last four years. I will provide further details on some of those areas below.
Leadership:
While there have been changes in recent years, the panel identified that school leadership had done an outstanding job of maintaining the momentum and direction of the school to ensure growth and improvement. There was shared leadership amongst the staff with every member playing their role to allow the successful running of the school. The support was felt by students and staff who knew who they could go to for assistance and guidance.
Teacher and Learning:
The classroom environments were outstanding and provided a fantastic platform for all students to be successful in their learning. The students loved their teachers and felt well supported in the classrooms. The teachers provided challenging work to extend students as well as supported students when they were having difficulties with the content. The students felt engaged in their learning and were able to have success in lots of different areas.
Wellbeing:
The panel identified that the school has a great wellbeing team in place to provide support and guidance to the community at Westbreen. The school had done a terrific job of working with families to ensure each student could be successful and be a successful member of Westbreen. The school has a welcoming and inclusive culture that allows everyone to feel connected and to be themselves.
Overall, the process has been very positive and highlighted that we are in a good position to the take the next step in our school journey. Thank you to the parents who attended the forum and shared their feedback as we value community engagement so highly.

2026 Enrolments:
Thank you to all the families who have already submitted their enrolment forms! We encourage our 2026 Foundation families to visit the office to complete the enrolment process by filling out the school enrolment form and providing evidence of their child's date of birth and immunisation record. To assist with planning, we kindly request that parents finalise their enrolments as soon as possible to support planning for 2026. If you have any questions or need clarification regarding the enrolment process, please contact Ms. Kerry Parfett, our Community and Enrolment Facilitator.
Your support means a lot to us. Wishing everyone a wonderful week filled with positivity and care.
