It’s been another busy fortnight in PE at Rangeview! Here are some of the highlights.
Eastern Regional Athletics
Team Rangeviewwas in action at the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Athletics Finals at Tom Kelly Athletics Track in Doncaster! We are so proud of our incredible young athletes who competed against the best from across more than 300 schools in the region.
A huge congratulations to Rayani R., who finished 2nd in the 9/10 Girls 800m and has progressed to the State Championships next month! What an outstanding achievement at such a high level.
A big shoutout also goes to Collette C., who finished on the podium as well finishing 3rd in the 12/13 Girls 1500m, showing exceptional endurance and determination.
We’d also like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts from our athletes on the day!

Eastern Regional Basketball Finals
On Monday, our Rangeview Girls Basketball Team competed at the Eastern Regional Finals, and came away as Regional Champions out of over 300 schools!
The girls had an incredible day on the court, displaying skill, teamwork, and determination across all five matches. They started strongly, defeating Templestowe Heights (39–20), Belgrave South (33–25), and Montrose (39–38) in the pool stage to advance to the semi-final.
In the semi-final, Rangeview maintained their composure and teamwork to overcome St Dominics (29–21), before taking on Lysterfield in a thrilling Regional Final. In a fast-paced, high-quality match, the girls fought hard and secured a 37–32 victory, earning the title of Eastern Regional Champions!
This incredible achievement means Rangeview will now contest its first-ever SSV State Basketball Final for a Girls Team, a historic moment for our school!
A massive thank you to Georgia C for her fantastic coaching and leadership, her support and energy were instrumental in guiding the team to success. Thank you as well to all our families for there energy and cheering on the sidelines.
We’re so proud of how the girls represented Rangeview, showing resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Congratulations!!

Eastern Regional Volleyball Finals
Yesterday our Rangeview Boys/Mixed Volleyball Team had a fantastic day at the Eastern Regional Finals!
The team played with great spirit and teamwork throughout the day, improving with every match. After an early loss to Ashburton (0–2), they bounced back strongly with wins over Pembroke (2–0) and Waverley Christian College (2–0) to qualify for the semi-final.
In the semi-final, Rangeview continued their strong form, defeating Serpell (2–0) to progress to the Regional Final. In a tense and high-quality match, they narrowly went down to Mount Waverley North (1–2) in a great contest for the title finishing the day as Runners up out of over 300 schools.
A huge thank you to Mr McDonald for his excellent coaching and to Michelle C for driving and supporting the team on the day.
Well done to all players on a brilliant effort, you represented Rangeview so well & should be so proud of your achievements!!

Regional Junior Future Stars Girls Hoop Time
On the 29th of October, our Level 3/4 Girls Future Stars team competed at the Regional Finals at the State Basketball Centre! Facing tough competition, our students had a fantastic day, pushing themselves and playing four very close games & narrowly being defeated in the finals.
A big thank you to Yoanna L, Judi J, and DeAndre J. for their wonderful coaching, transport, and supervision on the day! We are very lucky to have such amazing support for our students!
Best of luck to our Level 5/6 All-Star Boys & Girls and Level 3/4 All-Star Boys & Girls, who will be competing at their Regional Finals over the coming fortnight!
2026 Rangeview Level 4-6 House Swimming Carnival
Our annual Rangeview House Swimming Carnival will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd, at Croydon Memorial Pool. All Level 4-6 students will attend and will have the chance to participate in 50m, 25m, and novelty events. If you’re interested in the average qualifying times for District Swimming, please look out for an email towards the end of the year. We will also invite any 2026 Level 3 students who are strong 50m swimmers to attend the carnival, with more information to follow in a Google form later this year.
We’re looking forward to another great event!
