Ryan's Ramblings

Dear Families,

I hope this finds you well. I do hope that everyone survived the crazy wind this week.

I have had the privilege of taking part in the Newington/Dana Street Primary School Japan Tour over the past nine days. We flew back and arrived home on Wednesday afternoon and, whilst I am a little weary, it was fantastic to reconnect with our students on Thursday morning.  Kylie and Kellie Healy have both kept the school humming along beautifully, along with our dedicated staff in my absence.

This is the second year our school has had the chance to be involved. Fourteen students and three staff spent nine incredible days exploring and learning all about Japanese language and culture. Visits to historic temples and castles, a school visit, museums, and heritage listed gardens were all part of the adventure. A day was spent in Ballarat’s Sister City, Inagawa-cho, which is due to celebrate 40 years of strong intercultural relations in 2028.

I feel quite proud to say that as a Government Primary School, we are in the position and have forged the relationships with other schools, that have enabled international tours to occur. I would like to thank Newington Primary School for their partnership and I am hopeful that we can continue to offer the program into the future.

Our Swimming Program finishes today! Thank you to the many parents who took time from their busy schedules to assist in the supervision of students both in the pool and in the changerooms. Our students loved the challenge of the inflatable obstacle course at the end of each week.

You may have noticed that our school is looking a little brighter this week. Our grounds painting is finally underway with the break in the weather just long enough to allow it to happen. Works should hopefully be completed next week.

In some fantastic news, Mr. Jones and his wife Adriana welcomed their little boy to the world safe and well, last week. Welcome to the world, Louis Piero Jones. What a lucky child to be born into such an amazing family.

The spring weather is slowly creeping in, with the end of next week looking to be quite comfortable.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Ryan
