Stronger student voices

Gearing up for 2024

We are happy to report that over thirty students have signed up to be a part of The Cecil Voice Team in 2024.

To prepare our students, the Community Engagement Team partnered with RIEP (Regional Industry Education Partnerships) to successfully deliver our first Cecil Voice training day to 25 students with assistance from Ms Stephanie Aceglav and Ms Rhonda Stone, who we thanked for their tireless support of the program.

Here is what Tijana Bozovic, one of our participants from Year 9, had to say about our first Cecil Voice Training Day:

"The Cecil Voice Training day was highly significant for all students who applied to be part

a of the Cecil Voice team. This day allowed us to experiment with various applications, such as Audacity, and podcasting tools such as microphones and the school's Rodecaster. The day also offering valuable insight into what we would be working with as we venture into the world podcasting. It helped us understand the podcast creation process and the necessary steps involved. Overall, I am confident that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, gaining a taste of the steps and roles that we will be need to be successful in podcasting in 2024.

Next year, I'm most excited about the numerous podcasts we'll create to further expand our knowledge and gain more experience in podcasting. We'll be interviewing diverse individuals from various backgrounds, helping us understand the steps and challenges people faced on their journey to where they are today. I know that hearing their experiences will serve as lessons from which the Cecil community can learn and grow. I'm also looking forward to the opportunities to forge new friendships and connections."

Fostering a museum of thoughts

The Cecil Voice was designed to be a museum of thoughts for the entire Cecil Family, past and present, to enjoy now and in the future.

Here is a list of our published episodes so far for everyone to enjoy:

As you can see above, The Cecil Voice Team have another five exciting episodes in the pipeline and I will leave it to your imagination to guess who they might be. To give you a clue, each guess will have links to the following themes: Numeracy, EALD, Aboriginal Education, HPGE, and Special Education.

For now, you can find The Cecil Voice on Facebook and YouTube but worry not because in 2024, our students will be taking our voices to Spotify to make your listening experience even better.
