Engagement is key

Engagement Week

During Week 6 of this term, many staff participated in our inaugural engagement week and created some extra exciting lessons or activities. There were some great things going on around the school. Amongst some of the lessons that I observed were students making ice cream, participating in debates, making slime, creating 3D topographic maps, playing educational games, doing practical activities, taking part in scavenger hunts, and learning outdoors. The students had a ball in these lessons, and they certainly were engaged. There was also a positive spike in attendance rates in week 6 with a jump of 5.6%. 

Senior Legal Studies Incursion

Midway through this term, Senior Legal Studies students were treated to a fantastic incursion. The students were able to work through a simulated crime scene, gather evidence and make judgements on this evidence under the guidance of ex-detectives. Thanks to Ms Vuong for giving the students this great opportunity.

2023 has been a fantastic year with so many highlights. It has been great working with staff, students and parents and I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. I look forward to working with you all again in 2024.
