Celebrating Achievements and Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of another year at St Peter’s College, we reflect on the collective accomplishments and growth that have defined our learning community. It has been a year filled with exciting milestones, exceptional programs, and some memorable experiences that have enriched the educational journey of our students. I encourage you to read through our school magazine The Rock, which will be published shortly to appreciate exactly how significant these events have been.

Mathematics and Literacy Achievements

We are delighted to share the successes of our Numeracy and Literacy programs this year. The dedication of our students and the tireless efforts of our committed educators have yielded remarkable improvements. Through targeted numeracy tutoring and innovative teaching methods, our students have not only grasped challenging concepts but have also continued to develop a genuine love for learning. Literacy in Context (EAL) classes, the MacqLit program and Reading Detective classes have assisted our junior students in their literacy development. We applaud each student for their hard work and the teachers and tutors for their unwavering support.

Engaging Excursions and Incursions

Learning extended beyond the classroom walls through a series of captivating excursions and incursions that brought education to life. From exploring local eco systems to hands-on activites with external professionals, these experiences have left an indelible mark on our students, fostering curiosity and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Head Start Program Success

The final fortnight of the academic year saw our students eagerly participating in the Head Start Program. This initiative aimed at preparing them for the challenges of the upcoming academic year.  The engagement and enthusiasm displayed by our students during this period speak volumes about their readiness for the next level of learning, despite some of the inevitable interruptions to theprogram through Progressive Achievement Testing and the Year 12 retreats.

Holiday Homework for Senior Students

As we bid farewell to all our students, we want to remind our senior students of the responsibility that comes with being leaders in the school community. Before returning on February 1, 2024, for the new academic term, senior students are encouraged to diligently complete their holiday homework, ensuring a smooth transition into the next phase of their education.

As the year draws to a close, we express our gratitude for the unwavering support from parents, the dedication of our students, and the hard work of our educators. Wishing everyone a joyful and blessed Christmas season and a restful break!
