Big Night Out and Recording Excursion to Lalor North

It was a busy start to the term for our junior and senior school bands and school choir. On the evening of Thursday 12th October both bands and the choir performed at Big Night Out, an event hosted by Lalor North Secondary College designed to showcase musical talent from primary schools in our region.

Plenty Parklands Primary School was represented tremendously well by our bands and choir, who absolutely brought the house down with their renditions of Jailhouse Rock (junior school band), The Final Countdown (senior school band) and Dreams (choir).

The students also had a fantastic night listening to the other performances including those by Lalor North’s high school bands and singers.

The following week on Friday 20th October the bands and choir visited Lalor North Secondary College once again for a recording session in the school’s recording studio. With the assistance of Lalor North teachers Dino Azzollini and Phil Smardenkas, all the students were able to contribute towards professional quality recordings of their songs.

What a brilliant opportunity to learn about the music recording process first-hand and to see (and hear) their hard work during rehearsals throughout the year pay off!

A big thank you to our parent helpers Lie Mei, Amanda Fiasco and Daniella Laferlita for their support on the day. Keep your ears peeled to hear those recordings over the school’s PA very soon!

Sports Uniform Sponsorship

Earlier this year PPPS were quite fortunate in obtaining a sponsorship donated by the parents of Isaac H of home group 6-1.

Isaac (middle child pictured) along with his friends Yianni and Logan are displaying the AFL uniforms that we were able to purchase with these funds. We are very grateful and very appreciative of the support parents such as Isaac’s of PPPS provide to ensure our students are equipped with the correct uniforms to participate in Interschool Sport on a Friday morning.
