What a fortnight! Does the weather know what season we’re in? Despite some of the wetter weather, our kids still had fun and showed their creativity and imagination, using items from the dress-up box or whatever they could find inside. It’s always so wonderful to hear and see the stories, characters, settings, and plots they create.

Last week, we had a fluffy little friend visit; Molly’s chicken, Mini Muff! I love all the animals the kids bring into school, and I was lucky enough to have a hold of Mini Muff myself. Speaking of creatures, Cowwarr Primary School seems to have turned into a moth sanctuary, with many of them hanging out on the front deck. The kids loved seeing these beautiful creatures, but we decided the deck wasn’t the safest place for them. So, Ariella and I carefully moved them to a tree at the back of the oval, where we felt they would be much safer.

On another note, I’ve had the opportunity to spend time in Room 2 this week with our Foundation–Grade 3 students. It has been wonderful to see the progress they are making in their reading, writing, and Maths; it truly blew me away! Working one-on-one with a couple of students to help them really understand concepts was so much fun. Seeing those “aha!” moments and watching their learning click into place is one of the most rewarding parts of this job.

Domino Shop is always a highlight at the end of the week, with students excitedly telling me what they are working and saving for. We had two students, Tom and Angus, reach 100 dominoes, such a fantastic effort! It really goes to show how hard our students work, not only in their learning but also in demonstrating and embodying our school values.

Time for another skoop!
I don't have much to report this time around so for this skoop I thought I would take the time to share some special moments from the past couple of weeks.
Jamieson: On Thursday, Jami spent some time with Miss Maddy practising tying his shoelaces, and by lunchtime he proudly came into the staffroom to show us he’d tied them all by himself for the very first time! Such an awesome achievement for Jamieson,
I might even miss tying them for him every day.
Willow: There is no way I could possibly create a list of special moments and not include Willow's special day! On Wednesday we celebrated Miss O's birthday and I must say we had one very excited girl. Its always so lovely to share these special days as a team and the sweet treats are defiantly a bonus.
Owen: This week, Owen achieved a new personal best during our “Non-sense Word Fluency” work, reading an incredible 70 words fluently in just one minute, such an impressive effort and something he should be really proud of!
Molly: The writing being produced by this superstar has been outstanding! Molly is really taking on our text studies and coming up with brilliant ideas for her writing completely independently. It’s also been so awesome to see the effort she’s putting into sounding out words and improving her handwriting. I can’t wait to keep watching these skills and confidence continue to grow!
Jayden: In case you weren’t aware, noodle cups are a very popular lunch choice across our school! On Thursday, Jayden was really intrigued by them and decided he wanted to try some for the very first time and I’m happy to report they were a huge hit! Trying new foods can feel pretty scary for some of our young people, so this was such an awesome achievement for Jayden, and I mean, what’s one more noodle cup added to the lunch tray!
It has been a wonderful and busy time in our classroom. Students have been working hard across all learning areas and should feel very proud of their efforts. They have shown persistence, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge themselves, and it has been exciting to see their confidence continue to grow. I am so proud of the kindness, enthusiasm, and resilience they bring to our class each day, and I look forward to seeing all they continue to achieve throughout the year.
Our Lego Club has been a fantastic success, with students showing wonderful creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills as we build impressive creations together. It has been lovely to see their imaginations come to life while also developing patience and collaboration.

Outside, students have been enjoying playing footy, basketball and riding bikes during recess and lunch playtime. It has been great to watch them stay active, encourage each other, and demonstrate excellent sportsmanship while having fun with their friends.
