Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea
WOW what an incredible effort from our whole school community! Yesterday, we held our Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser and raised an amazing $1121.15 in gold coin donations, along with $980.00 online, giving us a fantastic grand total of $2101.15 for the Cancer Council. This is a wonderful achievement by our Kindergarten and School Community, and we should all be incredibly proud of the generosity, kindness and community spirit shown in supporting such an important cause. Every donation, big or small, will help make a difference to individuals and families impacted by cancer, and it was heartwarming to see our community come together in such a positive and meaningful way.
A very big thank you to our Miss Halliwell and Student Voice Council for leading this fundraiser, and to our Student Leaders for hosting the special Biggest Morning Tea assembly. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves for the leadership, organisation and enthusiasm you showed throughout this event. Most importantly, you should know the positive impact you have made by supporting fundraisers like this and helping others in our wider community.

SKYFARM VISIT
On Friday 22nd May, 12 of our Environmental Education Leaders travelled to Docklands with Mr Hunter and Mr J for a very exciting and unique opportunity - a visit to the incredible Skyfarm rooftop garden. Perched on top of a nine-storey building, Skyfarm is an amazing urban farming project featuring more than 400 food cubes already bursting with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Our students rolled up their sleeves and helped plant 50 new food cubes with seedlings and seeds that will continue to grow throughout the winter months. As they explored the rooftop farm, students learned about sustainable gardening practices, including composting systems, water harvesting projects and the importance of growing food in urban spaces.
One of the highlights of the day was being gifted special bubblegum grape vines by the owners of Skyfarm, which will soon be planted in the Athol Road Primary School urban farm for our whole school community to enjoy.
This experience was especially exciting as Skyfarm is still under construction and not yet open to the public, making our students among the very first visitors to explore this innovative and inspiring space. It was a fantastic hands-on learning opportunity and an unforgettable experience for all involved.
