School Wide Positive Behaviour Systems

SWPBS Focus: Building Resilience and Responsibility
Over the past few weeks, our students have been exploring the important values of resilience and responsibility through our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program.
Students have been learning that resilience means continuing to try when things are challenging, learning from mistakes, and finding positive ways to overcome setbacks. Through class discussions, role-plays, and everyday learning experiences, students have practised strategies such as asking for help, using positive self-talk, and persevering when tasks become difficult.
Alongside resilience, students have also been developing their understanding of responsibility. They have explored what it means to take ownership of their actions, care for their belongings and learning spaces, follow expectations, and contribute positively to our school community. Students have been encouraged to demonstrate responsibility by being prepared for learning, making safe choices, and helping to keep our school environment welcoming and respectful.
It has been wonderful to see students applying these skills in classrooms, playgrounds, and across the school. By strengthening resilience and responsibility, our students are developing important life skills that support their learning, wellbeing, and success both at school and beyond.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by discussing times when children have shown perseverance, overcome challenges, or taken responsibility for their actions. Working together helps reinforce these valuable skills and supports our students in becoming confident, capable learners.
