Brekky Club Delights

During Term 3, our dependable duo, Lynne Newberry and Megan Bourke, decided to increase Breakfast Club to twice weekly, much to the delight of students.

Despite the event running like a well-oiled machine, a great deal of time and effort goes into organising and hosting each breakfast, which can see more than 50 students come through the doors each time. In addition to Lynne and Megan organising, cooking and serving, the breakfast is heavily reliant upon Foodbank, who provide the school with much of the food served. Whether you feel like a nice, hot, cheese toasty or some muesli and yoghurt, there's sure to be something to satisfy.

This initiative is a fantastic means of ensuring our students have the nourishment they need to get through the school day. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, one in five children aged 14 - 18 years, skip breakfast daily. Eating a nutritious breakfast helps students concentrate for longer periods and gives them more energy to perform.

Thanks to Lynne and Megan for tirelessly and consistently devoting their time, ensuring the success of this vital program.

Breakfast Club runs every Monday and Wednesday morning, from 8:30am in the Student Centre, unless otherwise advised.
