On Tuesday 12th September, the Mango House Cooking Group met, only for the second time and got busy in the kitchen; preparing, baking and decorating 150 cupcakes to hand out to the staff of Belmont High for RUOK? Day.
On Wednesday 13th September, the whole Belmont High community came together to support RUOK? Day and the significant meaning behind it. RUOK? Day is a national day of action where we are reminded to ask those around us, ‘are you okay?’ and start the important conversations whenever they spot the signs that someone around them may be struggling.
At the staff morning briefing, Year 9 Mango student Lucy came in and spoke about the huge task the group had completed the day prior and why we did it. She then presented the cupcakes to the staff.
A huge thankyou to Mr Maki, Fi, Peta and Britt for supporting the group to complete this, we can not wait to see what else this group gets busy cooking going forward.
