Part-time Jobs

Having a part-time job is an awesome way to learn responsibility and time management as well as to make your own money. Just like with all the activities that you do: sport, school, time with friends, it is important to work out how much of your time you can afford to give to your part-time job.  With senior students, approaching VCE exams, it is even more important to consider how much time you have available to work. It is a good idea to have a conversation with your employer as soon as possible to explain if you require time off work to study or to complete exams/assessments. Sometimes we hear of students working as many as 30 hours a week in a part-time job; this is not sustainable.  If having a conversation with your employer seems daunting, please reach out to trusted adults to get some support.
