Student Learning

Foundation

As part of our Book Week activities the Foundation students visited the town library. Students enjoyed reading books, learning how the library works and doing some book week activities.

The preps have been learning about words that rhyme and had to find the rhyming words in a poem 'The Fat Cat'. They also had to write their own sentences with words that rhyme.

Year 1/2

Reading: The students have looked at summarising the characters and the problems their books.

Writing: We have started our poetry unit. The students created similes about people they know and then looked at where they needed to add line breaks to their poems.

Maths: The students have been learning about location. Whilst playing a board game, they needed to  give their partner clear instructions to follow.

Art: The students have been very creative making their own necklaces. They also made these super cute giraffes to tie in with the short listed book Kev and Bev.

Sport: With Athletics Day just around the corner, the students practised passing the baton for their relay races.

Year 5/6

Jocelyn and the student leaders visited Bluebird Kindergarten to share their favourite story books with the children in celebration of Book Week! Our students loved visiting the kinder and sharing books with the students.

Math today was a tasty one! Working with fraction, decimals and percentages!
