Message from the Principal Team

Week 8 Already!

We have had a huge Term 3 and we can’t believe that we’re about to head into Week 9. We appreciate that we have had many events where we have requested parent support and volunteers. Thank you to our school community for being so supportive of our learning and activities this term! In addition, I would like to thank all of our CNPS Staff for their dedication to the teaching and learning and for providing such an engaging, inclusive and supportive environment for our students.

Father’s and Special Person’s Day Morning Tomorrow - Foundation

We are looking forward to celebrating Father’s and Special Person’s Day in Foundation tomorrow. We would also like to wish all of our CNPS Fathers and Special Persons a Happy Father’s Day on Sunday.

Book Week Parade Wednesday 30 August

The weather may have rained on our Book Week Parade yesterday, however, we had a fantastic time sharing our costumes in the hall and walking the catwalk. Thank you to all of our wonderful staff, parents and carers for supporting this event and creating amazing costumes.

Year 3/4 Camp

Our Year 3/4 Students are heading off to Golden Valleys Lodge in Flinders next Wednesday to Friday. This is a very exciting event for our students and staff and we wish them a safe trip away and look forward to hearing about their adventures.

Learning Walks Monday 28 August

On Monday we conducted Learning Walks across the school. We saw some brilliant Maths lessons and noted that there was clear evidence that our students are engaged and that we are teaching high-quality Maths across the school.

Thornbury Primary School Visit to CNPS

On Tuesday, Jo Missen and Steph Millar, teachers from Thornbury Primary School came to watch our Maths teaching model in action. A huge thank you to Millie, Maddi and the students from 12M  and 34CO for modelling lessons at short notice and hosting these visitors. Alex Fonstin, Education Improvement Leader accompanied our visitors and wrote the lovely email below thanking Millie and Maddi:

Hi Rachel and Maddi,

I wanted to send a quick email to say thank you so much for having us this morning. It’s so wonderful to have the opportunity to connect schools to share practice and knowledge, and we really appreciated the opportunity to engage with you and your Mathematics program. Please also pass on a big thank you to Millie and Carlye for being so accommodating and chatting so openly with us.

I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Steph and Jo to further discuss and utilise the knowledge that this morning’s visit has provided.

Kind regards,

Alex
