IMPORTANT INFORMATION

FOR SACRED HEART FAMILIES

Uniform

Transition to Summer Uniform: Students have been asking if they can start wearing summer uniform as it is getting hotter. This transition will take place at the beginning of Week 9 (Monday 11 September). Students will be permitted to wear either their summer or winter uniform. Parents are reminded to use their discretion depending on the weather.

Please remember though, depending on their choice, students are to be dressed in either of the following:

FULL SUMMER UNIFORM:

Girls - Summer dress, white turnover socks, black shoes. A jumper may be worn.

Boys - Grey shorts, lemon short sleeve shirt, grey socks (with blue/gold stripe). A jumper may be worn.

FULL WINTER UNIFORM: including school tie and stockings (girls).

**stockings are NOT to be worn with summer dresses.

**no short sleeve shirts with trousers.

**no long sleeve shirts with shorts.

The School Hat with emblem must be worn by all students at all times during all outside activities. This is in line with our Sun Protection Policy and ensures we continue to be a Sun Safe School. If your child comes to school without their school hat, they will be required to stay under the shaded areas of the playground. Students will not be supplied with a hat to wear for hygiene reasons.

If your child comes to school in items other than listed in the School Uniform Policy, please ensure that you send an email or make contact with a staff member to notify them of this.

Uniform Policy

In recent weeks we have been seeing a few items that are not in our School Uniform Policy being worn to school. e.g. wearing earrings other than plain studs or sleepers, pandora bangles, necklaces,  rings, nail polish, coloured hair, hats other than school hats.

Purpose of the Uniform Policy: The wearing of a school uniform promotes a sense of belonging for students and creates a positive identity for the school community. School uniforms also contribute to the personal safety of students by allowing easier recognition of students inside the school and the community. It is a requirement at Sacred Heart Primary School, Boggabri that students wear the correct school uniform when travelling to and from school, during school hours and when engaged in school activities outside of normal school hours.

If you would like a printed copy of the Uniform Policy, please contact Ms Traynor in the office.
