The Junior School P&F Barn Dance on Saturday 19 August was a HUGE success with 250 families kicking up their heels to the sounds of the Outback Bush Band. It was a delight to see the fun had by all as they swung around the dance floor and played games in the breaks.
In a wonderful combined effort, we were able to raise over $10,000 to support upgrading the Junior School facilities in the Glasshouse and Area 51.
A warm thank you to all of our parents for bringing their families along. Thanks also to everyone who supported our raffle by donating prizes and purchasing tickets.
Parents who have not yet seen the wonderful photos from the event can view them here using the password 23Barndance: https://geosnapshot.com/e/junior-school-p-f-barn-dance/22001
As part of the event we collected donations towards the improved facilities. Thank you to the following donors who will be honoured on a plaque in the Glasshouse:
Please show your support if you can for the generous local companies who kindly donated to our event:
A massive thank you also goes to our wonderful organising committee who gave so generously of their time and worked so hard to get the Barn Dance off the ground:
Pre Kinder – Sam Burns and Hannah Johnston |
Kindergarten – Katie Nanayakkara and Dana Oldroyd |
Year 1 – James Hinton and Lucienne Downs |
Year 2 – Anna Elder and Karen Canning |
Year 3 - Jacqueline Russell and Lindsey Stewart |
Year 4 – Kate Strahorn and Josh Gordon |
Year 5 – Sarah Rourke and Kirsty Chambers |

Most importantly, our warmest gratitude goes to the wonderful Kate Strahorn, who advocated for staging the event and then led the Junior School organising team so calmly and competently. Thank you Kate!
