Year 9 News

Well done to everyone on a successful year! It has been wonderful to see you grow throughout 2024 and we are looking forward to watching you flourish in Year 10! We hope you all have a lovely summer break and enjoy some sunshine.

Values awards:

Well done to all students on your recent value awards! It is wonderful to see you being commended on upholding our school values. This week, we are spotlighting:

Poppy Murdoch: for your excellent commitment in CSI over the past 2 weeks. Well done on a strong end to year 9

Mia Frawley: for putting in your best effort, even on the last day of school

Anderson Brown: for commitment and effort in Basketball Academy in term 4.

Year 9 Camp:

Last week, the Year 9 students went on camp to Bacchus Marsh and Geelong. The students stayed at Camp Sunnystones and did some canoeing, raft building and archery on Wednesday.

Thursday involved heading off to Geelong for a day at Adventure Park. With the weather being so warm, it was a perfect day for the students to spend all their time going up and down the water slides.

They were then lucky enough to call into Ballarat on Friday for a spot of Christmas shopping on the way home.

A big thank you to all the students who came and to the staff who helped out as well!

Calling all soon-to-be Year 9 student leaders!

Are you interested in participating in a life-changing student leadership experience? Next year, Horsham College has the great privilege of sending four Year 9 students to the School for Student Leadership. The successful applicants (2 male and 2 female students) will participate in a term-long program with other student leaders from across the state at the Don Valley Campus in the Yarra Ranges in Term 2, 2025.

Selected applicants will be interviewed by a panel of staff who will determine the most suitable team of students to attend the School for Student leadership.
