Year 8 2024 – The Year that was……

What big and interesting year it has been at Horsham College 2024!

The Year 8 team would like to congratulate all the Year 8 students on their demonstration of the Horsham College values, care, character, commitment, and collaboration throughout the entire year. We understand that Year 8 can be a challenging year for students on many levels. Finding your feet, your place in the world, and life at Horsham College can be tricky at the best of times. Students are faced with many triumphs and tribulations, the Year 8 cohort should all be proud of their resilience and efforts in 2024. The Year 8 team feels privileged to have been able to work with such a delightful and engaged group of students who have all achieved so much this year, both big and small.

The Year 8 cohort had an overwhelming number of participants in this year's Maths competition, which was pleasing to see. Our highest-achieving student was Jack Charity, who also had the highest score in the school.

 Year 8 Camp

In 2024 the Year 8 camp was to YMCA Camp Wyuna @ Queenscliff, we participated in many fun and entertaining activities on the beach such as canoeing, beach activities, and boogie boarding. We also achieved a lot of things at the campground like a pizza making and cooking and team building activities and we were able to do a breathtaking bike ride along the Bellarine Peninsula to Point Lonsdale and visit the Marine Discovery Centre.

Overall, a nice place to be, we all had fun and didn’t want to leave. The camp provided us with the opportunity to experience a range of new activities, form new friendships/relationships, and make many great memories. Thanks to all the Horsham College staff who made this camp possible, we are all so lucky to have such awesome Year 8 teachers.

The Year 8 team would like to wish the whole Horsham College community of students, parents/guardians, and staff a safe and relaxing holiday break. We wish you all the best for the next chapter of your educational journey at Horsham College or abroad.

Thanks again for a wonderful year.
