Principal Report

As another school year comes to a close and we look ahead to a well-deserved Christmas and summer break, I want to again congratulate all our students on a successful year that has been full of opportunities to learn and grow, both academically and personally. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate a 100% VCE & VCE VM achievement rate for our graduating class of 2024. A special acknowledgment goes to our 2024 Dux, Jude Ryan, for achieving an outstanding ATAR of 95.05 and those students who received awards at Monday's presenation night.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making this year a success. Thank you to School Council and our Parents Club for their unwavering support throughout the year. Their guidance and vision have been invaluable in ensuring that our school continues to grow and thrive.

To our dedicated staff, thank you for your commitment, professionalism, and care. Your passion for teaching and guidance is evident in all you do, and our school community is so lucky to have you. On behalf of our school community, I wish Ruth Borger all the best as she retires and thank her for her years of dedication and impact on our school. To departing staff members Craig Bessel, Sanjay Gosai and Connor Brown, we thank you for your contributions and wish you every success in the future.

As we celebrate this season of rest and renewal, I also encourage you to reflect on the exciting journey ahead. 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Rochester Secondary College. We are thrilled to be welcoming 80 enthusiastic Year 7 students as they begin their journey with us as well as some new staff due to our growing enrolment.

Next year marks the beginning of our new strategic plan after our school review this year, with a key focus on further developing our Teaching and Learning program and the implementation of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support program to complement student Wellbeing. These directions will help us build on our successes and continue to provide the best possible education for our students.

Finally, thank you to the families and wider community who provide such solid support for our school. Your partnership and involvement are integral to our success, and we are grateful for all that you do.

Wishing you a joyful Christmas, a relaxing summer break.
