Introducing the Year 7 Hub team for 2025

Year 7 Orientation Day: Welcoming our newest students for 2025!

As the school bell rings in a new chapter for our 2025 Year 7 students, Orientation Day stands as an exciting and pivotal moment in their educational journey. It’s a day filled with new faces, first impressions, and an abundance of opportunities to explore what lies ahead in secondary school. All under the notion of creating a sense of belonging.

This year’s Orientation Day was a vibrant celebration of community and curiosity. From the moment students stepped onto campus, they were greeted with warm smiles from teachers, peer mentors, and staff, all eager to make them feel at home.

The day began with a Welcome Assembly, where our principal shared inspiring words about embracing challenges and making the most of every opportunity. Students were then introduced to their mentors, our Year 10 leaders, who outlined what they could expect in their first year of secondary school.

Following this, students participated in an interactive campus scavenger hunt. This was a chance to explore our College and familiarise themselves with key facilities such as the library, science labs and other relevant information. This not only eased any nerves but also gave them a sneak peek at some of the exciting activities they’ll enjoy throughout the year.

In classrooms, students engaged in team-building exercises designed to encourage friendships and collaboration. Activities like the Ice Breaker Game, Tabloid Sports and maths and literacy activities all sparked laughter and allowed students to connect with their peers in a fun and relaxed environment.

As the day came to a close, students departed with a newfound sense of confidence and belonging. The transition to secondary school can feel daunting, but Orientation Day is designed to ensure every student feels supported, inspired, and ready to thrive.

A big thank you to our dedicated staff, Year 10 mentors, and Learning Support Assistants who helped make Orientation Day a resounding success. We can’t wait to see our Year 7 students flourish as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
