Faith Life

Our Advent Journey

This Sunday 15th December, we light our third candle of our advent wreath.

Candle Name: The Shepherd's Candle

The Third Week of Advent Represents: Joy

Candle Colour: Pink

This third candle is pink and symbolises rejoicing.  During the third week of Advent we are filled with joy for the near arrival of Jesus on Christmas day. This Sunday is often called "Gaudete Sunday" as we reflect on the joy the shepherd's felt at the birth of Jesus.

How is Jesus inviting you to experience greater joy this Advent?

End of Year School Mass

As the school year draws to a close, we warmly invite you to join us for a special celebration of faith and community at our whole school End of Year Christmas Mass on Tuesday, 17th December at 11:30am. We will come together come together as a community in prayer and thanksgiving, reflecting on the blessings of the past year and preparing our hearts for the Christmas season.

Some of our Prep students will be acting out the Nativity story during the Mass, bringing this special story to life!

We will also take this time to announce our 2025 Student Leadership Roles, celebrating the achievements and contributions of our students as they step into these important responsibilities.

We hope you can join us in this celebration!

Sacred Heart Student Assessment Day 2025

In continuing our beginning of year assessment process, we will undertake the 2025 school year with a whole school assessment day. These dedicated sessions will allow teachers to meet with students in small groups of five and gather essential reading and maths data. These sessions will enable your child to build connections and inform future teaching and learning so that teachers are equipped to provide for your child.

Details of the session:

Date: Wednesday, 29th January 2025

Duration: 30 minutes per group

To book a suitable session for your child, please use the following link and code:

Website link: https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au

School code: f3y5p

Bookings are now open and are compulsory for all students. If you have more than one child, siblings can have the same times, if they are available when booking.  On the day please arrive 5 minutes prior to their session time and line up at the student's designated area - cones will be in place. Classroom teachers will collect each group of students at the beginning of their session time.

Current families who have a child starting Prep in 2025 can also book a time on this day for testing.

Students attending CAMP AUSTRALIA on site will be collected by their classroom teacher to attend their nominated session.  Students do not need to bring anything with them (water bottle optional).

We thank you in advance for your support in ensuring we begin the school year with individualised assessment data for your child/ren to plan for individualised learning and target teaching.
