Dogs Connect Update - Jack
Around the school with Jack
Term 4 has been a big term for Jack (our school wellbeing dog). Jack has spent a lot more time in classrooms, in the yard and at different school events. It has been great to see his growth and maturity throughout term 4 and this extra work from Jack has seen him already looking forward to the holidays - he has lot's of naps throughout the day! We can definitely see the impact this is having on developing a calm nature in the classroom and the students developing care and compassion for Jack. Students do a great job in asking permission to pat Jack and learning that we don't patt around his head area. It is a great opportunity to remind the school community regarding ways to keep Jack safe and happy by following these 3 expectations:
- Always say hello to the person first - not Jack!
- We give lot's of space when we pass Jack - asking permission to approach or pat!
- Keep moving if he is moving or resting
