Sports
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
With the warmer months upon on us, can I please remind all students to be bringing hats, drink bottles and wearing sunscreen to their PE classes. PE teachers will also be providing sunscreen, but it is important to be reapplying sunscreen across the day.
Kind regards,

Eastern Metro Region-Year 7 Girls Table Tennis
Congratulations to our year 7 girls table tennis team who recently represented the Monash Division at EMR. The team, coached by year 11 students Kristina Dew and Angie Nikolova, were amazing. The team’s determination and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day was exemplary.
Our first and only ‘pool’ match was against Balwyn HS. The girls were challenged in each of the singles and doubles matches. We lost this match 2-4, and qualified for the semifinals.
In the semi finals we met Glen Waverley SC and it was an extremely close match. The girls tied in sets 3-3, however lost in games 9-11. We thought our table tennis journey was now over, until a playoff for 3rd and 4th was organized by the convenor, which we were very grateful.
Our final match against Blackburn HS was again tied 3-3, however this time we had won more games 12-9, and Brentwood won!
Thanks again for a wonderful tournament and I look forward to seeing what you achieve in 2024!

Eastern Metro Region - Intermediate Girls Cricket
The Intermediate Girls played on Tuesday 17th October at MacCleay Park in Balwyn. The girls won the toss and decided to field against Upper Yarra Secondary College. Great team encouragement was shown with the girls supporting one another and sharing the bowling. After 15 overs, they managed 5/56 with Isha, Sharmitha and Tess sharing the wicket haul. Anushaka and Sharmitha opened the batting for the Brentwood Innings and combined won the game with 5/58 after 8 overs.
This saw the girls play Rowville in their second match. Unfortunately, they were unable to win their match, but the girls showed great spirit and effort throughout their match. A special thank you to Katie Hunter, who volunteered for the day as a parent helper.
Congratulations to the following students for their teamwork.
Anushka, Ayla, Rhian, Isha, Ishi, Lida, Monique, Olivia, Sharmitha, Chloe, Meena and Tess.
2023 State Athletics Championships
In cold, wet and windy conditions a small selection of our most outstanding athletes competed at the SSV State Athletics Championships at Lakeside Athletics Track in Albert Park. These students qualified for the finals courtesy of winning their respective events at the Eastern Metropolitan Region event earlier in term 4.
Each student gave 100% in their events and achieved some amazing results. These students should be extremely proud of themselves for reaching the highest possible level of school athletics and we cannot wait to see what they can achieve in 2024!
