Achievements

Congratulations on the students who achieved their calculator license. Students have been working really hard throughout the year learning the key functions of their calculator and how to use it appropriately to solve problems.

KIOSC

Scoresby Secondary College students are participating in the KIOSC Mathematics competition, KIOSC will visit or provide an online session where students will learn about the competition and create a SCRATCH Game themed around their topic – Theta World or City Experience. This game can be submitted to win prizes.

Year 7 - Theta World

Students have a different mathematical problem to solve each week in the amazing Theme Park – Theta World! 

 

In partnership with MATHSPACE, KIOSC hosts a 3 week online Maths Competition. Each week there are 2 tasks for students to complete: 

  1. MATHSPACE - Pre-Challenge questions to get learners practicing their maths skills (optional),
  2. Challenge Question - The Theme Park Challenge question
  • Week 1 – KIOSC Lesson @ School
    • Introduction to program and a fun Scratch game creation to launch the competition.
    • Submit game over the next 2 weeks to win a prize.
  • Week 2 – Waffles!
  • Week 3 – Ride Data

Year 8 - City Experience (Maths)

I am having loads of fun creating the scratch waffle game. It is a real challenge as I mostly code from scratch. The best part is seeing people like my game.
