As the year draws to a close, our junior students are wrapping up their final units, while our senior students gear up for their VCE studies after completing their exams this week. Our team is eager to guide our future Year 11 and 12 students through our upcoming Launch program.
To conclude the Year 10 program, we encouraged our students to reflect on their year through a thoughtful letter-writing activity. This provided a meaningful closure to their studies and paved the way for the exciting challenges of the upcoming year. The students embraced this opportunity with sincerity, expressing their insights on favourite units, acknowledging challenges, and outlining their goals for English, along with their aspirations for the journey ahead. Their reflections not only marked the end of one academic chapter but also set the stage for the promising chapters that await them in the coming years.
Some of their key moments of the year included:
“Studying Night and the Holocaust”
“Writing a full essay”
“Presenting commentary on writing”
“Developing vocabulary to write with sophistication”
“Writing fictional personal journeys”
“Reading to Kill a Mockingbird”
“The freedom to write creatively”
“Improving writing style”
“Embedding more quotes in essays”
As the English Leader and Year 12 teacher, I want to congratulate our Year 12 students. Your hard work throughout the year has paid off, and it was great to see you leave the English exam feeling confident and proud, and ready to tackle the rest of your exams.
Well done, Year 12!
Ms Sarah Wilson
