🌳 Outdoor Classroom Day with the Early Years 🌳

Pre-Kindy

On Thursday, 2 November, we participated in Outdoor Classroom Day. This linked in perfectly with our learning intentions for part of this Term’s plan. 

Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning about Sun and Water Safety. After reading our picture book ‘Fun in the Sun’, we participated in all of our learning experiences outside including play dough, sensory rice trays, ocean animal trays, water play and cotton tip painting of a sun to improve our fine motor skills. It was a wonderful morning of learning and playing in the sun.

Year 2

In Year 2, students completed their guided reading rotations outdoors. Students were pair-share reading, working on literacy planet, working on comprehension questions or reading a text with Miss Bell. Students also completed a survey for mathematics. They came up with their own question and asked their peers the question to collect data.

Year 2 Excursion to WA Museum

Students had a fabulous time at the WA Perth Museum, in particular the focus being presented on Aboriginal Culture and language. Students explored various exhibitions within the Museum and discovered many interesting facts and objects.
