School Holiday Groups by Down South Therapy

Chillout Group

8th to 12th January - Mary Davies Library, Baldivis

 

Age Groups & Times:

7 to 10 year olds: 9:00 - 11:00am (2 hours per day for 5 days)

10 to 14 year olds: 12:00 - 2:00pm (2 hours per day for 5 days)

 

Our Chillout Group will help your child to develop the skills needed to regulate their bigger harder to have emotions (i.e. anger, frustration, sadness), have a number of functional and individualised strategies that can be used at home, school and in the community and to assist with social skills needed for making and sustaining friendships.


Lego Master-Builders Group

8th to 12th January - Baldivis South Community Centre

 

Age Groups & Times:

7 to 10 year olds: 9:00 - 11:00am (2 hours per day for 5 days)

10 to 14 year olds: 12:00 - 2:00pm (2 hours per day for 5 days)

 

The Lego Master-Builders Group is designed for all children aged between 7-14 years of age. Based on the ‘Lego-Based Therapy’ your child will develop their social skills, collaboration, turn-taking, sharing, negotiation, collaborative problem-solving and motor skills whilst working together in a facilitated environment to create creations.


Social Stars - Social Skills Group

15th to 19th January - Baldivis South Community Centre

 

Age Groups & Times:

5 to 7 year olds: 9:00 - 11:00am (2 hours per day for 5 days)

7 to 9 year olds: 12:00 - 2:00pm (2 hours per day for 5 days)

 

Our Social Stars Social Skills Group will provide your child with the skills and confidence in socialising with their peers, meeting and making new friends and overall having fun with their friends based on expectations of their age. These groups will also help your child to learn more about their emotions, providing them with their own individualised strategies for regulating their emotional needs.  


We Thinkers - Social Skills Group

15th to 19th January - Mary Davies Library, Baldivis

 

Age Groups & Times:

7 to 9 year olds: 9:00 - 11:00am (2 hours per day for 5 days)

 

The We Thinkers Social Skills Group is designed specifically for children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. These groups have been designed based on the We Thinkers! Curriculum to help your child develop foundational social competencies using structured play and music activities that ensures skills learnt transfer to play and situations at home, school and in the community.
