ALNF Breakfast Library
Exciting news from the Library - from the first day of Term 4, KHS will be collaborating with the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation to offer Breakfast Library three days per week. Breakfast Library provides a healthy breakfast for students as well as several high-quality books to read and take home each term to build their own library.
Breakfast Library is about reading and sharing a meal together. Books and food will be served on the landing outside the Library on Monday, Tuesday and Friday each week from 8.20am to 8.50am.
Our first Breakfast Library of the term will be on TUESDAY 15th October.
From ALNF:
‘Literacy is one of the most important indicators of future health, well-being, and prosperity. It is a vital component of this program which aims to set young people up for an effective day of learning whilst also creating vital opportunities for literacy and language learning in an informal setting.
ALNF is committed to ensuring that the Breakfast Library also strengthens community ties. Where suitable, parents and community members are encouraged to attend the program to eat and read with their children’.
