Macleay Public Schools Music Festival
On Wednesday 11 September twelve different public schools from across the Macleay Valley came together to make their voices and music be heard in this year's Macleay Public Schools Music Festival.
Over 300 people headed to Melville High School to watch students from Aldavilla, Crescent Head, Frederickton, Kempsey East, Kempsey South, Kempsey West, Kinchela, Smithtown, and Willawarrin, as well as Kempsey High and Melville High School.
The performance was a culmination of weeks of hard work from the schools who have been busy collaborating and communicating to organise the event.
KHS student Ivy Sletton, year 8 played a Guns n' Roses song "Don't Cry" on the electric guitar. Ivy is primarily self taught and gave a stellar performance on the night.
The mass choir performed several songs that were very warmly received. Kempsey High Students contributed their voices to the choir and are seen standing along the back row.
It was a fantastic night and an experience students will always remember and hopefully participate in in years to come.
