This term is a quieter one, with the majority of our Year 12 General students successfully completing their courses at the end of Term 3. Our 12 ATAR students are busy reviewing their Mock Exams in preparation for their WACE Exams to be held in Weeks 4 and 5.
Our Year 11 students are continuing to work on their Unit 2 content with final assessments due in Week 6 for General students and exams in Weeks 6 and 7 for ATAR students.
Congratulations to our Year 11 students who successfully passed components of their OLNA in the last round. A huge achievement.
There is an expectation that students attend their classes until the end of term. Leaving early for harvest or work is not deemed an acceptable reason and, as a result, any missed assessments will be awarded a zero (0). We will not be facilitating any catch-up test session unless absent due to sickness or other acceptable reasons.

At the end of last term and the beginning of this term, the Year 11 General students started their topic of social issue campaigns. The students have been looking at various advertisements related to social issues within the country such as drinking driving, speeding, organ donation, first aid and analysing the various components that make an advertisement visually appealing. The analysis of the different advertisements and their target audiences is in preparation for the students to create their own videos on a social issue of their choice. This will be their final assessment in English this year. In the English department, we always look forward to the creativeness that each group brings to this assessment each year!
This term, the Physical Education students have started their practical assessment for a motor learning and coaching assignment. Each student has brought their individuality to the assessment, coaching their peers in a skill in the sport of their choice. Last term, each student completed the written work in preparation to teach their skill to their peers. To date, we have seen various skills in netball, volleyball, and football. The variety of sport choices that students have made has ensured that there have been no double ups of skills learnt by all. I want to congratulate the entire class for the respect they have shown each student whilst they have been leading the class in their assessment.
