Year 4/5/6
Lego Education
On the 5th of September, 4/5/6 proudly hosted an exciting assembly to officially launch our new LEGO Education SPIKE Essential and BricQ Motion kits, generously funded by Snowy Hydro through their Local School STEM Fund. This event marked the beginning of a thrilling new chapter in STEM learning at our school.
We were honoured to have Sam McGruer, representing Snowy Hydro, attend the event to present the kits to our school community. Sam spoke about Snowy Hydro’s commitment to supporting education and how these kits would open new opportunities for our students to develop critical STEM skills.
The 4/5/6 students gave impressive demonstrations of how these kits can be used in hands-on learning. They showcased a variety of builds, from a LEGO taxi programmed to pick up and drop off passengers to a pulley system exploring the science of forces (pull and push). The students confidently explained how the kits would enhance their learning experience in STEM subjects, engaging students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The assembly was also attended by several parents, who were able to see firsthand the positive impact this initiative will have on their children's education. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as our students demonstrated their creativity and problem-solving skills with these innovative resources.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Snowy Hydro for their generous support and to all the parents who joined us on this special day. We’re looking forward to seeing our students continue to explore, build, and grow with these fantastic LEGO kits!
