Staying SunSmart
A reminder that, as we are into September, all students must have a wide-brimmed hat to wear when playing and learning outside during the school day.
Please ensure that your child has theirs at school each day, clearly marked with their name.
Please also ensure that your child applies sunscreen before school and we recommend them also having a small roll-on sunscreen in their bags to reapply during the day.
Students without a wide-brimmed hat will be directed to stay in the shade in the quadrangle. These hats can be bought from the school office for $10.
Lost property - please claim your items!
We have amassed a huge collection of jumpers and jackets, water bottles and miscellaneous items over Term 3. Parents are asked to visit the Lost & Found, accessible via the Quadrangle, to claim items belonging to their child.
All unclaimed items will be donated to charity on Friday next week.
Year 6 market - this Thursday (12th September)
In leadership, the year 6’s are currently working in initiative groups. This is a project where each team has been tasked to develop a program or initiative that they can run to benefit others in our community.
After the success of last week, tomorrow after school (Thursday 12th September), two groups will be running a mini market in the school grounds.
One group (Bea, Mia, Olivia, Apurva, Ella and Valentina) is selling donated second-hand books and donating all proceeds to Sacred Heart Mission.
Another group will be selling delicious, home made lemonade and pretzels also donating all proceeds to Sacred Heart.
Neither group will be accepting card payments so please make sure to bring a few gold coins.
Library books
With less than 2 weeks to go until school holidays, it is time to return any borrowed school library books. Please return them as soon as possible, as this will allow Carolyn, our library technician to organise and restock the library space in preparation for a busy Term 4.
