Around the School

PHYSICAL EDUCATION YEARS 5 & 6

In Physical Education the students in Years 5/6 have been learning about the importance of being healthy and active. They developed rotation activities based on locomotor or sport skills to teach the students in Prep to 2. We had some fantastic sporting activities including AFL, soccer, gymnastics, tennis, pickleball, basketball, skipping, running, throwing and catching. The Year 5/6 students showed wonderful leadership and enthusiasm organising the activities which Prep to 2 thoroughly enjoyed.

Year 3 & 4 Camp Reflections

The most challenging part of camp for me was going on the giant swing because I don’t like heights and I went to the top without screaming. Annabel

I feel confident now that I have been to camp. The camp has made me feel like I was part of something. The camp has made me feel welcome and brave. Gabby

On camp, I started to feel independent that I could take care of myself and do challenging tasks. Sammy

Camps would be even better in the future if they had animals on a farm like cows and pigs, chickens and horses. Chris

The most enjoyable part about camp was the scavenger hunt on the last day. We worked as a team and won. Lucy

Something that I have learnt about myself is that I am very good at skating and also packing and being organised. Orion

I have learnt that I can ride a bike pretty well and that I can pack a suitcase. I am also good at archery. Violetta

Something I have learnt about myself is that I can go out of my comfort zone. Like when I was scared to go on the giant swing and I pushed myself to do it and it was amazing.  Bella D

Something that surprised me is that me and the people in my cabin were in the Grade Four area, another thing that surprised me is that I’m very good at skateboarding. Something else that surprised me was that I can practically ride a bike, I was also surprised that I actually went three quarters of the way up on the giant swing! Another thing that surprised me is our cabin had a shower, another surprise was I barely got wet when we did the hut building. I was also surprised that we got to have dessert, last but not least I was most surprised that we won Inverlochy!  Polly

I was surprised that I could go 18 metres high on a swing and then drop super duper fast which I have never done before. Also we went so quickly on the mountain biking which was pretty fun as well especially when we went in the giant puddle, or maybe just me. It was fun going over the bumps because you were riding super fast. The skateboarding was cool because I've never done it before. I learnt new tricks that were hard the first time but I got it the second or third time. The scavenger hunt on the second day was semi tricky but it was exciting to see who won.  The Inverlochy  scavenger was super cool and easy for my group because we got everything so quick but a couple of things were hard to find but we worked as a team and found them easily.  Thomas

On camp I was surprised that Miss McGuinness had a turn on the giant swing and I was also surprised that Mrs. Ferrari and Ms. Abiad both had a go at archery and I was even more surprised that Mrs. Ferrari actually got one on the target! (Even though it was just on the white.) My two favourite activities that we did were archery and the giant swing. I surprised myself by going down the ramp really fast! I was very excited when the cabins were announced but I was super happy when they told us our activity groups because I had Mia and Annabel from Grade Four  in my group. Our first activity was hut building. We read a short fiction story about some sailors whose boat had been shipwrecked and got washed up on an island, had to collect water and build a hut to protect themselves from wild animals. After that, we had to make the hut in groups of four and they had to be waterproof. Camp was the best.   Francesca
