Sporting Colours Parade
This morning our students came decked out in their sporting club colours.
From AFL, to soccer, rugby, netball, basketball and all in between were well represented.
It is always fantastic to see our students get in the spirit of our theme days and celebrate.
Spelling Bee
As part of our student excellence program, a number of students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 participated in a Junior Spelling Bee on Friday 6th September.
Students were asked to spell words based on the words that they have learnt in their spelling program at school. Students worked in small teams to write down the spelling of the words in the given timeframe.
The following teams were the top spellers on the day:
Foundation: Hannah L, William J and Jacob L
Year 1: Cianna C, Harvey T and Oliver S
Year 2: Olive B, Eli E and Elsa F.
Senior Spelling Bee
We are incredibly proud to announce that six of our senior students have achieved outstanding success in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee!
Their exceptional spelling skills, determination and dedication have led them to victory in this national competition.
Congratulations to all our senior competitors for their hard work and impressive performance. Your success reflects not only your individual talents but also the high standards of excellence that our school strives for.
Thank you to Miss Powrie for organising and coordinating this event for our senior school.
Premier Reading Challenge
Maths Explorer
Throughout this year we have had a group of Year 3 and 4 students who have been involved in the Maths Explorer Program as part of our Students Excellence Program.
The Maths Explorer Program allows students to collaborate with their peers and work together to make decisions about the way they explore a problem. The primary focus of this program is to build students’ confidence and allow them to develop their skills in a non-competitive environment.
It uses fun and relatable themes to showcase how problem solving strategies can be applied to a variety of problems and encourages students to work together to expand their knowledge and understanding.
The students have now completed the program and have had a lot of fun being involved.
