In the first week of the holidays, 22 students and three staff journeyed to Melbourne for 4 fun-filled days of Arts experiences and attractions including The National Gallery of Victoria, The Australian Centre for the Moving Image, The Australian Music Vault, Melbourne Museum, Skydeck in Eureka Tower, Art Vo (art gallery of illusions), The Musical “Six”, Street Art Tour, Shrine of Remembrance, Queen Victoria Markets and Old Melbourne Gaol. On the final night, seven teams battled it out across five rounds of Arts trivia which also included drawing a self-portrait and the Spicks and Specks game “substitute” which saw Mrs Rosenberg singing three different songs using the words from unrelated pieces of text with teams needing to guess the song title and artist.
Five of our Year 12 Visual Art students currently have work in the 2024 Incubator exhibition at the Substation Gallery in Paddington (150 Enoggera Terrace). The exhibition runs until Wednesday 4 October.
Congratulations to Tyrell Wolmby, Sam Ferraro, Harvey Madden, Ashley Kani and PJ Catalano whose artworks were selected to be part of this exhibition. PJ's digital artwork was awarded the People’s Choice award and Harvey Madden received runner-up in the residency prize with all students being offered the opportunity to be part of a future group exhibition in the gallery space.
