WHAT IS THIS WEBINAR ABOUT -
If you have a child or teen who has symptoms or a diagnosis of ADHD these words may be in the forefront of your mind.
Difficulty focusing.Easily distracted.Forgetful.Doesn’t follow through.Has trouble listening.Unable to regulate emotions.Disorganised.
As parents and professionals, we know our kids and teens are so much more than this. Yet, on a day to day basis, their challenges can very easily block their potential or impair their self-perception. GOOD NEWS incoming… there is so much we can do to help them experience more success and less frustration.
In this webinar, award winning credentialed ADHD coach, consultant and parenting expert, Sharon Collon (from the Functional Family) will be joining me. I call her the ‘systems Queen’ because she is all about tailor making systems and strategies to make family life more functional. You’ll find her down to earth, relatable and she has lived experience in this area to add to her professional knowledge.
She is going to help us smooth out the challenges, in clever and subtle ways, so our kids are more likely to experience themselves as capable and powerful people. I think every child (and home) living with ADHD deserves Sharon’s special skills set to support them.
Over the course of 90 minutes, will practically unpack:
- The obvious and not so obvious signs of ADHD and how these show up in our everyday lives using the open/closed brain concept.
- How ADHD impacts family dynamics in unique ways, and some of the biggest triggers and challenges families face. This includes the customisable ice-berg model in the workbook you will receive with this webinar.
- Common misconceptions and how to debunk those so they don’t get in the way of your relationship.
- How to balance understanding, boundaries and expectations when communicating to our kids in high pressure and low pressure moments.
- Specific strategies for managing homework, routines, and responsibilities that we all have to face on a daily basis.
- Sharon’s trademark system that parents can implement at home to help their child thrive!
- And lastly, how, why and when play helps kids succeed at other tasks and our relationship with them.
You will come away with specific language and takeaways for you home based on Sharon’s 15 years coaching families.
Bonus Workbook. You will also receive a workbook that has specially designed for participants of this webinar. It will further support your journey and help you put into practise the tools Sharon will share. It’s yours to keep!
The workbook includes:
- a list of the executive function challenges for ADHD
- the open/closed brain concept for understanding and motivating the ADHD brain
- a customisable iceberg for parents to explore how ADHD presents for their family members
- the predictable problem worksheet which encourages collaborative problem solving with their child.

Unplug Childhood
A presentation for parents of primary school aged children
In today’s digital age, our children face unprecedented challenges from social media and digital devices. Join us as we explore the urgent need to address these issues head-on. Social media companies have come under scrutiny for their failure to protect children, despite knowing the harm their platforms can cause. Dangerous algorithms push harmful content to vulnerable youth, impacting mental health and well-being. Screens not only disrupt academic performance but also displace crucial real-world experiences essential for healthy development.
While some advocate for legislative measures to restrict social media access for under-16s—a crucial step we fully support—implementing such laws takes time and faces significant technological and legislative hurdles. Parents cannot afford to wait. The majority of primary school-aged children already have social media accounts and smartphones, often violating existing age restrictions.
In this presentation, we discuss actionable strategies for parents and caregivers to navigate the digital landscape safely and effectively. From setting healthy screen-time limits to fostering open communication about online risks, empowering our children to navigate the digital world responsibly is more critical than ever. Together, we can take proactive steps to safeguard our children’s well-being in an increasingly digital world.
Tweens, Teens & Screens
Balancing Protection & Progress
No conversation about ‘kids these days’ has created more confusion and contention than the ‘screen-time’ discussion. How much is ok? How old should they be before they have a phone? Are games making our kids violent? Is social media destroying wellbeing?
Until now, our challenge has been that so much research is contradictory, there’s so little good-quality research, and there has been so much we simply don’t know. But all that is changing.
Join Dr Justin Coulson, one of the nation’s leading parenting experts, as he unpacks – step by step – the specific conclusions we can draw about our digital kids.
In this presentation you’ll discover:
- Why screen time is an unhelpful way to talk about kids and screens
- How boys and girls are affected differently by their screen use
- The true story about screens and social media
- The uncomfortable truth about boys and violent video games, and
- Why ‘the displacement hypothesis’ is the critical lever to pull in balancing screen use for our kids’ wellbeing
Tweens, Teens & Screens is the conversation the nation needs to have about our kids and their screens.
