As we come to the end of Week 7 and begin reflecting on the term, it’s clear that we have much to celebrate in our school community. This week, in particular, we are proud to acknowledge two special celebrations recognising the staff who support, guide, and inspire our students every day. Their dedication, care, and professionalism are at the heart of what makes our school such a positive and thriving place to learn.

School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS) Recognition Week

This week we celebrate School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS) Recognition Week, a time to acknowledge the incredible contributions of the staff who support our school each and every day.

A special thank you to our wonderful office staff, Mel, Theresa, Kayla, Kieran, Katie, Nicole, and Ruth, who are often the first point of contact for parents, carers, and visitors. Their professionalism, warmth, and efficiency keep everything running behind the scenes and make a huge difference to our school community.

We also want to recognise our dedicated School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) – Jess, Shelly, Bronwyn, Jen, Tania, Linda, Lisa, Blake, Tori, Nic, Kylie, Jo, Sophie, Noah, Seong, Kristen, Aaliyah, Tyana, Lylah, Terri, Stella, and Joel – who provide invaluable support to students in classrooms and the playground every day. Their care, patience, and commitment to student wellbeing and learning have a lasting impact.

And of course, a big thank you to Chris, our General Assistant, who works tirelessly to keep our school safe and looking its best. From fixing and maintaining facilities to helping wherever needed, Chris plays a vital role in making our school a welcoming place for everyone.

We are also very grateful to our P&C, who provided delicious food platters and decorated the office to make our SASS team feel valued and celebrated. Your thoughtfulness and support helped make this week extra special.

We are so thankful for the dedication, professionalism, and care of our SASS team. Our school simply wouldn’t be the same without you!

Early Educators Day

This week we celebrate Early Educators Day, a chance to recognise the vital role of early childhood education in shaping the foundations for lifelong learning. Our preschool is an important part of our P–6 school community, providing our youngest learners with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where they develop the skills, confidence, and curiosity that set them up for success in their school journey and beyond.

A very special thank you to Claire, Kadi, Bronwyn, Jen, Nicole, and Leanne for the care, expertise, and dedication you show every day. The work you do ensures our students begin their learning journey with strong foundations and a love of learning that will grow throughout their school years.

The Importance of Preschool in Our P–6 School

Having a preschool as part of our P–6 school is a real strength of our community. It provides a seamless transition for children as they move from early learning into Kindergarten, building familiarity with the school environment, routines, and staff. This connection helps our youngest learners feel secure and confident as they begin their school journey.

Our preschool also fosters strong partnerships with families right from the start, ensuring that learning and wellbeing are supported both at home and at school. By being part of the broader P–6 community, preschool children develop a sense of belonging from their very first days of education.

At the heart of our preschool program is a belief that children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships. We focus on nurturing the whole child, their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, in a safe and supportive environment.

Just as importantly, we see families as partners in education. Working closely with parents and carers ensures that every child’s strengths, interests, and needs are supported, and that children feel a strong sense of belonging both in preschool and across the wider P–6 school community.
