Positive Education

Term 3 2025

Positive Education at Resurrection School teaches students skills, knowledge and practical strategies to promote and strengthen student wellbeing and enhance positive relationships in our school community.

In Term 3, Positive Education continues to call mindfulness and meditation as a way of resetting and preparing for learning. Positive Education addresses Respectful Relationships and the Personal and Social Capabilities, Prep to Grade 6.

Some of the areas we have explored this term so far have included positive coping strategies, helping, help seeking, friendships and dealing with conflict. The students are acquiring personal tool boxes to assist them to call on positive coping strategies when needed. They have identified which problems are serious enough to mean that it is important to seek help from an adult. We have addressed the importance of clear communication when asking for help.

Some positive coping strategies include journaling, playing, drawing, colouring in, going into nature, sport, meditation and breathing exercises.

Today the Prep students explored who helps at home, school and in our community. The Grade 1 and 2 students The Year 3 and 4 students unpacked conflict resolution and the emotions linked to conflict along with people they can ask for help. This week the Year 5 and 6 students explored who they can ask for help and who they can help.
