Children's Book Week

CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK 16-23 AUGUST 2025
We’re thrilled to announce that Children’s Book Week 2025 will be celebrated from Saturday, 16 August to Saturday, 23 August. This year marks the 80th anniversary of this event, and the theme is “Book an Adventure!”
The theme encourages children to see reading as a way to explore new places, ideas, and characters. Throughout Week 5, students will participate in a variety of activities designed to ignite their imaginations and foster a love for reading.
On Friday 22nd August, come dressed as your favourite character from an adventure story or your favourite book character. Don’t forget to bring a book to school to match your Character (if you can)!
Parents are invited to attend our book parade on the basketball courts on Friday 22nd August at 9am!
Where’s Wally? Adventure Awaits in the Library!
Can you believe that Book Week is just around the corner? The library leaders are buzzing with excitement—and we hope you are too! We've been working hard during playtimes to create amazing displays for everyone to enjoy.
Our group (Amber, Chloe, Jarryd and Olive) designed the Where’s Wally display, inspired by this year’s theme: “Book an Adventure!” If you haven’t heard of Where’s Wally before, it’s a fun and adventurous book series where you search for a character named Wally hidden in different detailed and exciting settings. Each page takes you on a new journey!
To make the display interactive and fun for the whole school, we’ve put up Where’s Wally posters so you can challenge yourself to find Wally and his friends. We’ve also included books from the series for you to borrow if you want to continue the adventure.
You can find the display next to the borrowing area and Lego Land. We encourage everyone to use their imagination and get involved. We hope you spot it during your library session!
Happy adventuring from the library leaders!
Library Leaders Inspire Adventure Through Reading
We are the 2025 Library Leaders, (Mia, Ella and Heather) and we're excited to be part of this year’s Book Week celebrations! As part of the theme “Book an Adventure”, we chose to create a travel-themed display in the library.
Our goal was to invite students to think about the journey that reading takes you on—exploring new places, meeting unique characters, and discovering fresh ideas. Just like a real adventure, every book opens up a world of possibilities.
We hope our display sparks your imagination and encourages you to “travel” through stories during Book Week and beyond. Be sure to stop by the library to check it out!
Blast Off Into Book Week with Our Space Display!
As the 2025 Library Leaders (Emily, Gaurav, Tiana, Tharush, Sebastian), we’ve loved being part of this year’s Book Week celebrations. To match the theme “Book an Adventure”, we created a space-themed display—because we love stories about outer space, galaxies, astronauts, and distant planets!
We’ve had a great time using our creativity and teamwork to bring the display to life. It features fun space facts and a selection of exciting books to take readers on a journey into space and beyond.
We hope our display inspires you to explore the universe through reading. Don’t forget to visit the library and take your imagination out of this world!
