Education Week: Open Classrooms & Art Show
We would like to thank all our families and community members who attended our Open Classrooms, Art Show, picnic lunch and Book Parade for Education Week.
This year’s Art Show had the theme of Multiculturalism, showcasing the creativity of our students as they explored and celebrated the diversity of cultures. Thank you to our parents and carers for also coming to our Open Classrooms and being a part of your child's learning journey. Is was great to see many of our students dressed up as their favourite book character for our Book Parade. The picnic lunch was also a wonderful opportunity for families to connect and enjoy time together on our school grounds.
Education Week was a great success thanks to our school community, and we are so proud of the way our students shared their learning and creativity with such enthusiasm.

Cecil Hills Showcase
Congratulations to our 3-6 dance group and our Vietnamese dance group who performed last Thursday night in the Cecil Hills Showcase ‘Illuminate’. It was an amazing experience for our dancers as they performed alongside students from other local schools in the Cowpasture network area. Thank you to Miss Ellie, Mrs Nguyen and Mrs White for all of your hard work in preparing our dancers.
Premier's Debating Challenge-Update
In Week 4, our Bonnyrigg Public Legends debating team versed Revesby Public School. The topic was “All primary schools should have compulsory swimming lessons” and they were the affirmative team. It was a close debate with both teams presenting strong arguments however Revesby PS took out the win.
That was our final debate of the year. We closed out 1 win out of 4 debates, however students gained valuable skills in teamwork, critical thinking and public speaking. I’d like to congratulate our debating team for their amazing efforts.

Science Week
To celebrate National Science Week that ran from the 9th - 17th August this year, our school had a special visit from The Jollybops who put on a science show performance for all students in K-6. The show focused on demonstrating chemistry in a fun way - through experiments, showing combustion of gases to sugar fireworks and Elephant’s toothpaste! It was loud, colourful, flashy, fizzy, smokey, liquid nitrogen shattering Chemistry at its best!
