Argus-Xenica

What a busy start we have had to Term 3! We started the term celebrating our 100th Day of School... which we turned into a week long celebration! We then adventured off on our first excursion to Animal Land farm.. and then we celebrated Book Week! All whilst still carrying on with our every day learning. This newsletter is filled with photos of all the exciting things we have been busy doing. 

🐾 101 Days of Prep 🐾

Fancy back drops, decorations and a whole lot of spots were seen in the Argus and Xenica communities during week 2. Our Preps joined the Prep teachers dressing up as Dalmatians. We quite literally had 101 Dalmatians! 

We began our day with a community assembly and presented each of the Preps with their 100 days of school certificates. After this, we had a dance party to help us celebrate this milestone. We completed so many fun activities throughout the week and it was lovely to see so many families involved. 

Animal Land Excursion

On Wednesday 20th of August, the Prep students went on their first school excursion to Animal Land in Diggers Rest. On this day, students engaged in a wide variety of activities that gave students the opportunity to act as junior farmers.

We:

• went on a tractor ride
• rode a pony 
• milked a cow
• made butter
• fed the ducks, alpacas, sheep
• held baby rabbits, guinea pigs and chick in the nursery 
• played farm games (tug a war and egg and spoon race) 

It was wonderful to see all of our students upholding the Aitken Hill values and showing exceptional behaviour and following the instructions and guidance of the wonderful farmers that worked with us on the day.
