Principal's August Report

We at Aitken Hill Primary School recognise the rich Aboriginal heritage within our community and acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, which includes the existing family members of the Gunung-Willam-Balluk clan, as the Traditional Custodians of this land. We embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander living cultures as a vital part of Australia’s identity and recognise, celebrate and pay respect to Elders past, present and future.

As we hit the mid part of Term 3,  we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our families for your ongoing support and partnership. It’s been a busy and rewarding year so far filled with growth, learning, and community spirit.

Our students have made fantastic progress across all areas, particularly in their reading and phonics skills. We are proud of their resilience and enthusiasm for learning, even through challenges like wet weather and colder days.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our book week activities, it was great to see everyone dressed up and enjoying our parade at assembly!

Our choir performance for the community in the gym was a great success and we appreciate the time and effort Emily and the choir put in to prepare for everyone.

Thank you to everyone for contributing to our book fair, it's great to see lots of students leaving school at the end of the day with new books to read!

Warm regards,

Pete, Brian, Fiona, Kathryn and Sara-Kate
