Football

It was a memorable day on the football field, with all SPC teams delivering spirited performances across the board.

The First XI set the tone early with a dominant 6–1 win over St Pius X, showcasing teamwork and attacking flair, securing the ISA Division 1 Football Shield. The 15A’s were involved in a thrilling encounter, narrowly missing out 8–7 in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Continuing their impressive form, the 16A’s secured a tight 1–0 victory over St Pius X, demonstrating discipline and determination right to the final whistle.

The spotlight then turned to the 14A’s, with the Football School Championship Shield on the line. Rising to the occasion, the team produced a composed and clinical performance to defeat Oakhill College 2–0, claiming the shield for the College—a fantastic achievement!

The 16B’s ended their season on a high, delivering a powerful 5–0 win over St Andrew’s and finishing the year undefeated. Congratulations to the team on an exceptional season.

Other results from the day included a narrow 2–1 loss for the Fourth XI against Blue Mountains’ First XI, and a 4–1 defeat for the Fifth XI to Scots All Saints College’s First XI, demonstrating the quality of SPC Football taking on other. The 14C’s were beaten 2–0 by Oakhill 14B’s, and the 13B’s concluded the day with a 2–0 loss to St Augustine’s College.

The cherry on top of a fantastic season is that SPC are officially the ISA School Football Champions! Well done to all teams for their effort, sportsmanship, and the pride they brought to the College throughout the season.
