Mr. Ryan's Report
Another week bites the dust. It feels like we only just started the term but here we are in Week 5!
Last week saw a number of our Year 7 - 9 students compete at the NCD athletics at Charlton Park. Whilst it was a very cold, windy and wet day all students' enthusiasm was high, and we had a number of first place result across the event. Congratulations to all students that participated.
This Friday we see the Year 8 students venture over to the Trade Center to experience some of the classes that will be available to them next year. A reminder that this will mean changes to lunch times, access to the canteen, and also student's uniform on the day. A recap of this information is below.
All students MUST wear sturdy, covered shoes- preferably work boots etc if they have them.
Students need to bring their own lunch and snacks.
The day does not align with the regular Charlton College/NCTTC timetable so there is no canteen access at recess.
Students will have access to the canteen (cash only) towards the end of lunch for drinks and snacks but cannot place a lunch order.
What's been happening in Year 9?
Stella: So far this term I have enjoyed all the opportunities we have been given to go on excursions outside of school. I have also enjoyed the athletics days and Sport and PE have been fun so far this term.
Owen: So far, I have enjoyed doing TAFE because I like doing hands on things.
Erin: So far this term, I have enjoyed athletics and being the only one in my age group, meaning I won age group champion without even having to try.
Murphy: So far this term I have enjoyed all the sporting events. School Athletics, NCD athletics and just PE and sport in general. And also art, “Discovering our identity”.
Mitchell: So far this term, I have enjoyed doing TAFE on Fridays, in Woodwork we are currently making coffee tables with our own wood inlay designs, In Metal work we finished off our copper raising, and now currently making a nameplate thing.
Jordan: This term I have enjoyed the sports, excursions, TAFE and other things. I am very excited for camp in the last week.
