I would like to introduce you to our newest newsletter page: the "Accessible Building Works Update," which you will find each fortnight directly after my Principal's Page.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for all of our students, I'm pleased to share that construction will soon begin on accessibility improvements funded by the Victorian Government's Accessible Building Works Grant.
Receiving this grant represents a major milestone for our school community. The Department of Education's Accessible Building Works program recognises that every student deserves equal access to educational opportunities, regardless of their physical abilities or mobility needs. This funding allows us to remove barriers that may prevent some students from fully participating in all aspects of school life.
The improvements we'll be implementing go far beyond simple compliance with accessibility standards. They represent our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every student can move confidently and independently throughout our school. Whether it's ensuring smooth pathways for students using wheelchairs or mobility aids, creating accessible toilet facilities that maintain privacy and independence, or installing ramps and handrails that support students with varying mobility needs, these changes will make a real difference to daily life at our school.
While these works are designed with accessibility in mind, the improvements will benefit our entire school community. Parents with prams, staff carrying equipment, students recovering from injuries, Principals recovering from surgeries and elderly grandparents visiting for school events will all find our facilities easier to navigate. The upgrades will also future-proof our school, ensuring we can continue to welcome and support students with diverse needs for years to come.
This project reflects our school's core values of inclusion, respect, integrity and curiosity as well as a continued commitment to equal opportunity for all. We believe that when we create spaces where every student can participate fully, we build a stronger, more connected school community. These physical improvements complement our ongoing efforts to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and able to reach their potential.
We'll keep you updated on the progress of these important works through the following page and look forward to celebrating the completion of our improved, more accessible facilities together.
