Additive Pattern: A sequence of numbers where each number is formed by adding a constant value to the previous number.

Sequence: An ordered list of numbers that follow a specific rule.

Rule: The specific method or guideline used to create or continue a pattern.

Increasing: A pattern where numbers get larger as you move through the sequence.

Decreasing: A pattern where numbers get smaller as you move through the sequence.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Pattern Hunt: Go on a pattern hunt around the house or neighbourhood. Look for patterns in nature, design, or architecture. Encourage your child to describe the additive patterns they observe, such as the number of petals on flowers or the steps in a staircase.
