Year 9 News

Looking towards our final weeks of Year 9, we encourage students to lift their learning confidence by getting involved in Feedback and Skills Week 8, supporting our Year 9 Awards final assembly on Thursday 28th November at 1.45pm in the Language Centre. Moving into the following week on Monday 2nd December, Year 9 students will need laptops charged and pencil case re-stocked to begin their Year 10 classes. We hope to have a friendly catch-up on Gumbuya World Day!
Staffing Updates
Elyse Derricott leaves the Year 9 Team for NSW so students and staff will really miss her colourful displays, the atmosphere of the classroom, her highly organised nature, passionate interest in Art and the creativity she inspires from her students.
Learning Behaviours
Year 9 has 72 students eligible to receive a Learning Behaviour score. 37 students improved their LBU score from their previous result. 40 students achieved over 3.5 which was celebrated at our final reward lunch. Reaksa Loeur, Jackson Amos and Caleb Antrim received the highest possible score of 4.0. Congratulations to all students who developed work habits which have prepared them well for success in the recent CATs and is a strong sign of being ready for the challenges of Year 10!
Don Valley School
Olivia Ford, Logan Renton, Brayden Watson, Murray Whelan, Ali Sevenson and Alex Forbes spent Term 4 at the Don Valley School for Student Leadership living away from home for the entire term. Kurnai has had a couple of WebEx meetings with our students to discuss subject selections for next year as well as their community project, which will be completed when they return.
